Frypan +roasted meat = faster cooking time
Pretty much self explanatory, I'm spending more time cooking all my fish than I do catching them.

Its one thing to disagree with an idea, its another to not give a reason. Care to share?

I disagree with this because it seems as if cooking times are set purposefully -- to discourage you from relying on fish as it takes a lot of time and inconsistently gives the right stat fish. This promotes progression into different industries rather than relying on just fish, though they may still be part of your diet. As it is, you can easily feed yourself on the fish you're catching and cooking anyway -- if not feeding several very active people, so it's just a matter of building excess and reserves, which should come more from agriculture than anything else if we're talking historical accuracy and realism. We may or may not be talking about realism and accuracy, of course.
Another issue is the relative ease and inattentiveness necessary to fish and cook compared to how active you must be to hunt, farm, or forage. Why should you get more food consistently and faster than someone who farms for an equal amount of time and who needs more skills and stats to produce their food?

What's wrong with relying on fish? It's up to whoever wants to do so with a frying pan. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it.TeckXKnight wrote:I disagree with this because it seems as if cooking times are set purposefully -- to discourage you from relying on fish as it takes a lot of time and inconsistently gives the right stat fish. Don't start about balance in this game. The steep difficulty makes it already hard to gauge what's balanced and what's not.

Logically, it would make more sense. Would give more use to the pan as well.
Also, I agree with dra6o0n on this one, if someone wants to eat fish, let 'em. As for cooking time, it's not like the frying pan is a beginner tool; last time I checked it required metal, which is usually later in the game (unless you're very lucky, or born into a village).

Something needs to be done about roasting time if the game thinks I'm idle just because I'm waiting for everything to cook from a full inventory of fish with nothing more than a regular backpack. Woe to those who have bigger inventories; you'd probably get kicked offline.
+1 for fry pan goodness.

It might need Batter then, or meat will be burned.
