Then I guess I'll message stickman, perhaps if we all 3 don't sell them it'll work out.

pfft not selling thanes is silly. everyone was scared to sell thanes in world 2 when the max q was like 360 or something. now people have been selling q500 thanes and what's happened? nothing really. a pair of decent thanes only gives 100 or so melee anyway. if you're going to have the paranoid attitude you might as well not sell anything...

The difference is the minimum stats you need to be safe in this case.

If I have let's say 100 base melee + x from thanes, selling those thanes is dangerous, meaning that even your regular farmer needs a base of at least 100 more than average, as opposed to if thanes are never sold ou could have that farmer (outside farmers that is) walk around with thanes and 50 melee if the average person is 100 base.

It's all about just giving the other guy's boosts, if I sell to village B and village B decides to strike me, now my 'average' warrior never trumps their 'average' warrior.

I think it comes down to where the other three are selling them because they don't want the original person first selling them to have a monopoly on the sales since they sell like candy.

Outside farmers? what a strange notion.

Well anyone outside period, let's say I go out some place to go grab q10 logs and chop trees, I certainly don't want to get ambushed, however I can keep my gear in case of it and I have a win on the 'average' person. All these numbers are theoretical of course, let's say the average raider has 500 Melee, but they lack good quality in equipment so their thanes might be something like q200 (pretty good, something you'd expect from someone who's solo), but now the person in the village is going to get attacked by that guy, he only has 400 Melee because he doesn't want to waste too much LP not being a warrior, however his q1400 Thane's giving him the edge over the first warrior, despite less LP invested.

If the thane's are widely spread (which is already too late anyways -sigh-), now the average citizen of a bigger village needs more Melee to match the other, instead of just 400 he'll now need 550, or hell maybe even more.

The goons selling thane rings was revolutionary for this world. If they hadn't started the trend I doubt anyone else would have. There's no doubt it was a game changer. But it pales in comparison to people selling q100 ranger bows though. I'm a lot more afraid of someone with 300 marksman and that bow than another person with 300 melee and thanes.

Your initial prices on jewelry were unbeatable, they are about 1/3 the current market value. The customer server was unbeatable too, whenever I bought an item it was always 1-2 day delivery.

Goons never did worry. (we worried alot, but i think our strategy was more about staying below the radar so to speak) :3 I can see when the location of your town is as widely known as sodom, that you would want to take measures of safety though.

Goons had no reason to worry. They treated their customers fairly and were more reliable than most other traders. That and their reputation kept them safe in dealings. No one really wanted to see the Goon trading cycle end because not only did they set the price ranges for everything, they allowed people without access to superior q products to improve their villages/characters by simple acquisition of pain in the ass to gather items.

Most murders are committed for lulz, so the victim's prior behaviour is irrelevant.
