Since you're all hot for the number, plenty of goons don't live in Dun Goonheim and aren't part of the town, plenty of goons at the time were in old Goontown, plenty of goons at the new location weren't even killed because they were away from the town proper resource gathering or :lo'd, and so it goes.
But to the point the specific number's completely irrelevant in that it could have just as well been one man against 100 players and he still would have killed them all.
Just like there could have been 100 Jon's and one Blaze or Raephire would've killed them all.
That's why the new influx of players wanted a reset.

Re: Character Reset: The Word.
I am saying the goons make up a huge amount of the population, and if there are only 30 on at a time and 18 get killed, that is half the current population when compared to the real world where people cannot log out.

Re: Character Reset: The Word.
I'm pretty much okay with everything Jorb has said.
Really, the major reason the majority of players want to have a reset has to do with the imbalance of power that stems from a discrepancy of 10 points or more of a skill over an opponent. We want to be able to defend ourselves against opponents, and the fact that an oldbie can wipe the floor with our entire population without fear of repercussion (this may only be our perception) at a moments notice is very discouraging. The issue with thieving/black skills, the state of walls, glitched stealth, and others simply add to this discouragement.
That being said, I am well aware this is an alpha (thank you very much) and am sure that the devs intend to address these issues. I just hope they're addressed sooner than later. Also, please look into the following and if it's actually the case, melt his character: http://i32.tinypic.com/2zg7y8l.jpg.
Jorb/Loftar, we're all looking forward to the changes.

If that were the case, each time he dies he would have been 'removed' from people's kin list.Ruggan wrote:Also, please look into the following and if it's actually the case, melt his character: http://i32.tinypic.com/2zg7y8l.jpg.
Also, Jorb and Loftar have said in multiple places that they will not remove or replace anything gained/lost in a crash or exploit.
i guess they never miss huh

as it was said for another game:Ruggan wrote:Really, the major reason the majority of players want to have a reset has to do with the imbalance of power that stems from a discrepancy of 10 points or more of a skill over an opponent. People get over losing in this game based on the belief that there was something they could have done to overcome the end result. Taking that away by letting one side become literally unstoppable ends up leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth."

I don't know if this was the exact phrasing. There's always the example of the longcabin exploiters being exposed. If they want to, they can (the reverse is also true). Up to them ultimately though, who knows if that was even the case.Ferinex wrote:If that were the case, each time he dies he would have been 'removed' from people's kin list.Ruggan wrote:Also, please look into the following and if it's actually the case, melt his character: http://i32.tinypic.com/2zg7y8l.jpg.

*sigh* I've said it before and I'll say it again. You folks are fixated on pvp. A person with all skills can compete - on an even playing field - with everyone - on anything except hunting and pvp. A midsize person can successfully hunt just about anything currently available, taking advantage of inadequate pathfinding. Various high level players have repeatedly said that someone with good tactics could kill them - probably not a total newb, but a player midsize or maybe a bit bigger.Jackard wrote:as it was said for another game:Ruggan wrote:Really, the major reason the majority of players want to have a reset has to do with the imbalance of power that stems from a discrepancy of 10 points or more of a skill over an opponent. but i'm sure things will get fixed eventually

Also, this is not a pvp game. It's a game where pvp is possible. It also need not be a game of win and lose - win-win solutions are possible, as are lose-lose solutions. IMNSHO, JTG/goonies attacking Jon, Jon massacring goonies (after JTG's death), and person unknown killing Jon - was a lose-lose solution. Nobody won. But that's normal for pvp; the win-win solutions happen when people stay out of pvp mode.

without pvp, this game would become incredibly dull. but there is no point in attempting to persuade you, as most of your posts tend to say what you just said.

So I can compete on every level aside from the one that they can use to stop me competing forever?kobnach wrote: *sigh* I've said it before and I'll say it again. You folks are fixated on pvp. I think mybest answer to that comes from taking the same test you have in your sig:Jackard wrote:without pvp, this game would become incredibly dull. but there is no point in attempting to persuade you, as most of your posts tend to say what you just said.
