Tanning Leather

What do you put in the tanning tub with the leather? I see two bars to the right, but no idea what they are for...

Water and tanning material (bark).
You'll have to use buckets to transport the water, I believe you'll need to at least 6 buckets worth in order for the tub to function. One strip of bark is enough to completely fill the tanning material bar though.

You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

It does, but I can't figure out how to fill my dumb bucket

Pick up the bucket from your inventory by [left] clicking it.
Then while holding it like that, [right] click on the well.
Little animation and then your bucket is full.

Right-click on the well, not left-click.
If you want leather, come over to my place, I've got more than 2 chests filled with the stuff, and I already have 2 backup sets of leather armor.

It's actually the other way around, first left click, then right click. ;)
