They're useful for hermits to travel to villages to trade. You could possibly also make it so only a select few adopt one, wall off the area with the charter stone and only those people can acess that certain area. (Treasury?)

I was thinking of being a little cruel with one of those. build it. pave around it, build two walls around it, place runestones warning those that spawn there. activate and kill anything that I catch spawning on it. that would have ruined the experience for others though, so if I build one, I wont activate it.

you should activate and deactivate it tho. otherwise noobs still can spawn there. i think this bug was reported somewhen. don´t know where anymore tho.

In the very beginning when you are making a character is one of the options to spawn at, a village makes it, and anyone can spawn at it. I think when you still have the baby blue eyes buff, or something like that you can teleport to another charter stone
