Few people can express derision just as you do. :)

Are you crazy? People buy gold all the time. There was a Russian guy who was famous in the game, as his character was a few days old and he was the same level as people who had been playing every day for years. Either way, the option removes all fun from the game, imo.Bl1tzX wrote:I play eRepublik...
You can get gold from getting achievements. (Like working 30 days in a row...) Or you can trade your country's currency for gold. Of course, there still is the option to buy gold, but I've never really seen anyone mention buying gold due to how much gold is already in the game.
Oh wow,Jackard wrote:you know back in the day they had this thing where you would purchase the game and maybe some expansions later on
wild huh??
Unless you're going p2p I don't see many models being successful unless people can live with the fact that they might lose it when dying. Just about every time you always end up with the customers attempting (and usually successfully) creating another caste above the players.Jackard wrote:
now, for a slightly different subject! do you believe subscriptions would be a successful model for a grindy permadeath ffa pvp full loot mmo?

With a subscription model everyone would start on the same block which is fun, if we see logging into the same account multiple times at the same time to play diff characters that also allows for not hindering multiboxers (which this game seems very suited for)..
