How do I know if I have an outdated client? I can get to the login screen, but cant connect to server..

Whenever I open up the client and click login, I get the message 'Connection refused:connect'

Are you actually running the run.bat file? Or are you doubleclicking the haven.jar?

It's very particular about how you press it. You must hold ctrl, press x, release x, then release ctrl. you can't just mash it.
