Re: Where did the server go?
We're sorry about this!
Jorb or Loftar will most likely wake up in the near hour and restart the server.
I asked them to fix automatic restarts, but it looks like they haven't implemented that. :P

Re: Where did the server go?
No automatic restarts are not cool, but hey, every time the server crashes a bug will (probably) be fixed. So we are just making the game better.

Re: Where did the server go?
Automatic restarts shouldn't change that, though.
They usually fix the bug *after* the server has been restarted, so the server has to be restarted again anyway.
But yes, keep hitting those bugs. :)
The more that are found now, the better.

And...down again!
Sigh.

It came back for enough time for me to rebuild my cabin. Then crashed.
It came back and I built an Urn. Then Kaka wandered through Camp Noctis and I started having a chat and then it crashed again.

Cock...skins are back at 0% again after roughly being in there for over 14 hours.

Re: Where did the server go?
Downtime and server side segmentation faults are to be expected. We've never had the chance to stress test the server with actual users before, so bugs that haven't been found before, for purely statistical reasons, are now being found. This is, contrary to popular belief, a very good thing. Loftar is usually a wiz at fixing them. I know it sucks when a couple of hours worth of gameplay are blasted clear out of existence. Trust me, it has happened to me more times than it will, probably, ever happen to you.
It could, potentially, be hazardous to the ingame data to restart the server without checking what went wrong first. So, for now, restarts will remain manual.
Thank you all for taking the time to play.

Re: Where did the server go?
No problem. We all know this can happen on an alpha build.
Oooh cool global server message.

Re: Where did the server go?
I may occasionally vent frustration at having lost hours of play, but I realize that it is an unavoidable part of playing an alpha, and I by no means want to offend the people responsible for making such an awesome alpha. I don{t mean anything personally, I just might want to say @argh!@
That said,
@AARRRRGGH!@
ahem. I, for one, feel better.
