Can't login, yet server isn't down

I get the, "Could not connect to server" error yet I can't manage to figure out why.

My internet connection is working, obviously because I'm typing this right now. And I checked the homepage and it says the server is up. And my other friends are telling me they have no problems.

Why can't I play?

Standard or custom client? If custom, which one?

I have a similar problem. I registered today normally and im running the game on gilbertus client.

Site says servers are up atm.

When i go into the login screen and i put in my credentials it says "username or password incorrect" - yet i checked it now 500 times and my password and username IS correct.

Do i lack in some files that it connects to a server that doesnt exist anymore or anything else?

If you are using the official client (clicking Play up top), you may have a firewall interrupting.

If you're using a custom client, check the troubleshooting thread for that client. Chances are you haven't set the right server address.
