Re: Deforestation
Move to Bottleneck? I alone plant ~16 trees a day, and others have been planting as much or more.

Re: Deforestation
not if you're full nature. it's really really easy to plant trees if you're full nature. removing the penalty for people who are not full nature would be stupid, like allowing full nature people a chance to get cast iron. there is a reason that there is a nature/industry slider.Thursday wrote: Replanting trees is mainly a pain because they have a chance to die on the table even if you do everything right. Removing that feature would make it a lot easier to replant because people, even high industry people, could plant without having to watch their saplings like a hawk.

Re: Deforestation
Now that I've seen both sides of the argument, I don't think that there is a better system out of the two. I guess I'll just have to leave it up to the devs to see which one would be better, Thanks everyone.

Re: Deforestation
It's a 50% chance for a neutral nature/industry character. As I pointed out above, two of four trees per day (on average) should be sufficient for many once the initial expensive stuff is built (though not everyone needs their own mine, and cabins aren't an immediate necessity). Considering smelting ore is "worse" (10% chance of success for a neutral character), tree replanting is less troublesome. And there's no point in watching saplings. Figure out how long they take to grow for your character and come back within eight hours of then.Thursday wrote:Replanting trees is mainly a pain because they have a chance to die on the table even if you do everything right.
