Smart Windows.

Post by cobaltjones »

I don't know how feasible this is with all the custom clients that allow for random resolutions, but it is possible to have the inventory/equipment/skills etc windows remember their position on screen even after closed? As it stands now, they all open up in the exact same spot (hiding the window behind it) and it gets annoying having to move them out of the way when I'm trying to do multiple things at once.

I'm not sure how the code is written, and i don't honestly remember how to do windows in java, but what about something like this:

For every window, have a new button in the corner, barely noticeable, that you could click as a push-pin. When you click it, it changes whatever variable is used to define the (x,y) position of the window upon opening to the current position of the window. I don't know where this particular variable lives, but it must be specific to each window type, since they all seem to open at different positions by default. If you close the window without "pinning" it, it will open next time in it's original position.

It's not exactly the same as a persistent window position that reads and stores the window position automatically upon closing, but it might be useful to do it this way (if possible).
