Well, yes, but then you should be able to build walls underground, defending your surface area.Potjeh wrote:You do realise that this would make walls utterly useless, and villages completely undefendable?

Re: Caves and Wells
All depends on how the implement it. Would you say the same if wells were less frequent?Potjeh wrote:You do realise that this would make walls utterly useless, and villages completely undefendable?

Re: Caves and Wells
Just imagine if you could Dig UP from underground and get around walls, that would be quite devastating. It would have to be block able in some way though, perhaps some kind of 'Heavy Stone Slab' that you put in a tile like some kind of uber-pavement, it could use an entire Boulder. Keeping a giant farming area safe like this would be impractical but a modest size fortress would be feasible.

You would basically have to make the same wall you have on surface on every single layer. Could be a lot of fun if it turns out there's like 50 layers.

You'd have to be pretty determined to dig down 50 layers just to climb up to the surface and raid them.Potjeh wrote:You would basically have to make the same wall you have on surface on every single layer. Could be a lot of fun if it turns out there's like 50 layers.

Re: Caves and Wells
It seems hard now, but once the economy gets going the hardened leather cost will become virtually irrelevant. And mining will go really fast once people have 1000 strength and q160 stone axes again.
