Hearthfires gone?

The hearthfires of everyone in my camp vanished, so we had to make the long hike back.

I don't remember being able to destroy other people's hearthfires, so what gives?

That came with destruction, but I know it takes a bit of strength to do.

What? That makes no sense. Being able to kick fires out of your village is one thing, but removing an essential game-play element from the world at will is the worst concept I've ever heard of. I can't imagine how this could have been intentionally added.

killing people well that's not too cool but destroying their hearthfires is one step too far

it is necessary. i have to kick my hearthfire before killing someone.

I like it this way. It prevents pricks from coming and building a hearth outside my village to nonstop hearth in, steal my stuff, hearth to their village idol and dump it in their cabin.

I can just go over and destroy it

Maybe so, but you still shouldn't be able to destroy someone's hearthfire in their own camp, forcing them to walk all the way back.

Especially when you consider the fact that in future worlds, the map will be effectively infinite, and it's possible that your hearthfire could be days away.

if so that means they traveled days to get there break in and destroy it
