Re: Game Client modified by Ender
you need to extract the files from the zip into a folder, you can't run it from inside the zip

Re: Game Client modified by Ender
New problem.
When I attempt to run it, the command prompt flicker in and out.
I caught a few of the words...
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file

Find where your javaw.exe is located and edit your run.bat file according to this schema:Code: Select all
start "FULL PATH TO JAVAW" -Djava.library.path="PATH TO GAME FOLDER" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res
Example:Code: Select all
start "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Djava.library.path="C:\Games\Haven and Hearth" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res
or you could add your java directory to PATH environment var and use run.bat provided in my archive.
it might solve it

Does the translation work on the "russian" stone slabs that's been left around near deforested areas?

Press win + r
type cmd and press enter
type javaw and press enter
if nothing happen - java working fine
if you see text like "program or command not found" then java not setup correctly
reinstall JRE
(it will setup PATH and everything else correctly)

What dullah means, by quoting Ender, is to figure out the full path to your java executable in windows, and instead of "start javaw.exe" do start "c:\program files\..." etc etc in the run.bat - you'll need to do some editing to get it to run basically. Nothing very fancy, there's a lot of replies in this very thread with more info.

Not always. Installing Java JRE6 to Windows 7 does NOT make the path always work correctly - it associates .jar files with Java so running them from explorer works, but this isn't the way to do it in custom clients - the path variable is not always set properly, not sure why.

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

Re: Game Client modified by Ender
installed and reinstalled JRE many many times (win7 32) always everything work correctly.
so first step is to reinstall and then. if it not helped to try manualy set PATH enviroment
For less troubles i think what PATH better be set in run.bat
like this : PATH="c:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\"
and in "start" string we will have
start javaw -Djava.library.path=. -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res
one nice thing
everyone can use this : -Djava.library.path=.
dot mean current directory where client files is.
