I'm confused... Why is that silly? What about a gate without a key?Gauteamus wrote:a gate with a key to a round pole fence sounds just silly (the key, not the gate).

Hmm, seeing the response, that post may have been poorly worded.
Have you ever seen a pole fence?
Would you seriously consider spending wrought iron for a lock and key for its gate?

Pole fence gates will obviously not have a lock.

Re: Fence>Jump; Fence gates
I hadn't and by the looks of that thing, if you tried to jump it you'd be likely to knock it over... I probably wouldn't want to spend wrought on a pole fence key, but I'd happily spend cast. I'd also be happy with jorb's solution of a keyless gateGauteamus wrote:Have you ever seen a pole fence?

Re: Fence>Jump; Fence gates
The fence has some decent uses as it stands. You can wall off a claim relatively easily, and people would at least have to leave a vandalism clue to ransack your place. They also keep animals out, though that might change.

A rampaging bear will be able to break through the fence, and probably eat any food you stored outside?

And probably eat you, if you are outside, correct.
