I enjoy griefing. And with all these little ways for a complete noob char to grief whole villages, that's all this game seems to be about now.

I think timber houses has much less soak than mansions, so be glad they didn't waste resources to make the latter.

Just have around 30~40 str and make a Q50 bear cape and full barbarianmisn and you'll hit 70~90 Str easily, then bash the house and it'll drop 1tick in like 30 seconds.

It might takes ages yes, but they aren't active often enough to repair it...

But if the fool is stupid and sleep in the house, by all means SMASH IT DOWN ON HIS HEAD!

Like putting a claim on the area in front of the gate, then put signs and objects in it so if they so much as theft/vandal them, they get scented.

Temporary solution, build some sort of bollards (like palisade cornerposts) out in front of the gate to prevent construction.
