Knew someone who made the unwise decision to steal from a large village

His gravestone is as follows
"<Name>: He ran, he ran so far away, he ran all night and day. He didn't get away."

I saw a stone that said, "GET OUT. THEY ARE COMING." with bodies within a small radius. I was seriously scared of something, I don't know what. Probably the Grinning Man or the Jersey Devil.
