So, why were the flowers removed? They look nice, and I always thought that the vast outstretches of green in this game looked a bit odd, it'd be nice to have some variety like that! Sometimes, you cant even tell if you're moving forward because everything looks the same on all sides!

I believe salty was referring to the early pictures that have many different coloured flowers. I agree that more passive foliage would be pretty neat, especially if it changed on a seasonal basis. The screen shots in the album do seem a bit over the top on flowers though.

grassland would look a lot nicer if it were more like heath, only a soft green/yellow instead of purple/pink

The flower tiles were removed because... well... just look at it ...

The current grass tile was made soon after we discarded those, so it's dated. Grassland will look better after the map reset.
