I was under the impression that when you log back in into a character that previously was left sitting in a boat on the water ...
You end up ON the water (ok) and could walk back to the shore.
That last part did not work in my case. Got the "you need swimming to cross deep water" message. And the character was firmly locked to the (deep water) tile he was standing on.
- was a character that was last used some time ago. (2 or 3 weeks perhaps) (had no swimming skill either)
- ... makes sense to just block the "login at last location" if the location in on/in water and the character has no swimming. (and with swimming skill, a "Like to take a swim?" confirmation msg-box perhaps.
(warped character back to HF)

Re: Boat gone + "you need swimming to cross deep water"
He understands why he appeared in the middle of the river. He's saying that he thought the intended outcome was that he would be able to walk across the river to the shore without swimming enabled if he spawned on top of the river.
I can't comment because I have never had this happen before so I'm not sure how the system worked before.

To me it seems like it worked exactly as intended, you dont need swimming to be in the water, just to move about in it... The game seems to favour thought luck

For me personally that always worked perfectly so far. I heard from others though that it doesn't. No idea what affects it.

Thinking some hick-up. Was thinking it might be time related. But don't see why it should be time related ...burgingham wrote:mvgulik wrote:I was under the impression that when you log back in into a character that previously was left sitting in a boat on the water ...

If its character locked behavior ... new feature.
Trivial by nature.
