It seems every day you can do the same things to get lp. So curiosities are not the only way to get lp, also jesus cat gold and the other curiosities that are not crafted are rare.

I logged out for like 3 hours, logged back on, i went to go grab some clay to make some curiosities, i got lp for digging it up again so i went to test it on branches, i can get lp again off of everything i have already done. I assumed that was a gameplay feature because after a certain point we would have to only use curiousities to get lp.
