Villages.
Haven't found anything in this section about it, but I'm still curious. What all does it take to make a village? I've heard everything from "4 people who have lawspeaking" to "5 people on a kin list and 4 bear teeth". So basically, what all do you get as leader of a village, the things you can do, what it costs to make one, all that stuff.

Re: Villages.
Look in the threads in the announcement section. Basically one person has to have lawspeaking, and four more with yeomanry, the lawspeaker starts the building of a village idol, which requires a good amount of resources, including four bear teeth. After it is built, all five people have to be online at the same time to activate the idol, and a village is formed. Things that are good about it include special position only gear for the lawspeaker, chieften, and two hirdsmen, land control, and special authority actions.

To build a village.
5 people all of whom have yeomanry one of whom has lawspeaking.
The lawspeaker starts building an idol. An idol needs 4 bear teeth, and various other things, I forget what. The bear teeth were the hard part. I don't remember if it had a metal requirement. It does need some small number of antlers. Probably the rest is things like rocks and branches, or maybe blocks of wood.... I can't log on right now to check.
Once the idol is built, all 5 gather at the idol. The lawspeaker touches it first, then the others, then the laswpeaker inputs a village name. There may be more the lawspeaker has to do; I was just one of the yeomen, even though i did have lawspeaking.
I'll let someone else explain what it gives you.
There's also an old thread in the announcements section, from when villages were new, that explains some of this.

Yep. I think the forum neglected to show me that someone else had posted while I was composing my message.Laremere wrote:Great way to repeat almost exactly what I said.
