I was not there while the update happened but just wanted to say this update is really neat. It's not too simple to replant trees. Making it worth your time to invest more in replanting and living in communities.

Everything can become Dwarf Fortress, if you've got enough alcohol.

Great to see apple replanting, but dumping all those apple cores is so annoying. I guess it's the push we need to move away from eating nothing but apples ;)

I've taken to eating fish, but that's mostly to push my intelligence up to my con level. It takes somewhat longer to gather them, but they're one of the more easily obtained stat foods besides con foods.

Re: Game development: Tree replanting
Since I've seen some people doing this wrong, I thought I should mention it. Trees -- and you would think that this should be obvious -- need to be planted at a reasonable distance from one another. As a tree grows, so does it's bounding box. A tree will not grow if it, when it checks for the possibility to do so, finds that it cannot increase it's bounding box without collision. In fact bounding box collision will permanently nerf a tree in its present state of growth if it happens, so give the babies some room to breathe.

What if a bunny sits beside the tree when it tries to grow?
