I feel the need to say this: You guys know that it's not the actual additional content that bugs (us), right?
The idea of curiosities is neat. I love more stuff to craft, new items to find. I also appreciate that the old system needed changing, because it was flawed. But none of these things negate the issues with the new system. Saying "it's an alpha" doesn't negate the issues either. Nor does saying "QQ" or "instant gratification". There are issues. You'd have to be blind not to see them. The questions are if they're going to be "fixed" or not, and if so, when, and in what manner.

Re: Game Development: World 5
@Rhiannon: You rage and rage and rage and don't even know how the simplest things work. WWW can be found at 10 exp*10 perc. That is easy to get in a couple of hours. Raid anthills for good lp, you can easily outrun ants and then take care of their hill. While looking for those hills search for herbs, high q spots etc. Build a camp, get tons of leather. You will need it. Bones too. Try out caves, some walls are so soft you will be able to mine them with like 15 strength. Metal will improve the quality of your hearthlings life alot and producing metal is quite a time consuming process.
After a few days the first crops will be grown and then you will have more work on your hands then you can deal with. Just get the thought out of your head that any task will be rewarded instantly, but you will constantly get your fair share of LP. People who think they have to spend all their time farming curiosities are plain out wrong. They are mostly a byproduct of other chores you have to do anyway. Pretty sure it will be the same for farming, for mining I can already confirm there are curiosities.
When you still think you got too much time on your hands and don't know how to spend it in game, come over to our camp. I can assign you dozens of different tasks.

I like uncovering new stuff as much as i hate uncovering new stuff.harushu wrote:doing great here, found out the key is not a what LP a single doll gives you after x amount of time but it's setting up several items to study at once and getting a nice boost after the same ammount of time as a single object.. yes some items give a better LP per time studdied ratio.. but that's in any game.. the key is to know what gives the best LP for the room you have to study. aside from waiting for study time I have built a nice little starting village area with a claim, got leather is the works.. all in all I like the curiosities. I like having more stuff to craft and not knowing what's out there.. gives a little excitement about the game
The excitement of the game is amazing now that you don't know what your next craftable is. At the same time, I want to know what I can make in the future. I find it even more exciting to be in someone else's unclaimed camp, looking through their stuff, and seeing new items.
this new world is an excitement, but as i said some pages back its a bit slow. Aside from that, well done Jorb.
anything wrong in the game right now will be fixed. Anything not-wrong won't be fixed.Shousha wrote:I feel the need to say this: You guys know that it's not the actual additional content that bugs (us), right?

Anything that you don't see change in the future isn't wrong.

issues that have been acknowledged by the devs and most players that like the new system... what was your point again?Shousha wrote:I feel the need to say this: You guys know that it's not the actual additional content that bugs (us), right? I do believe this system is flawed but any new system will be, it'll take time to figure it out. As much as i want the old system back, i am adjusting to this new system and did catch myself having fun regardless of immediate Lp gain. Progress takes time and will not always be perfect, just go with it.

In order to get to exploration ten requires 5400 LP. I'm curious as to how you'd go about getting that in only two hours using the existing system. I really, really would.

I've actually been getting steady LP with the new system. Everyone can admit that theres a few things that can be touched up with it, but we just have to wait it out and get used to it every time.JoeNightmare wrote:I do believe this system is flawed but any new system will be, it'll take time to figure it out. And besides, it's been what a day and a half since the new world opened.. no developer would make non essential changes at this stage.. it needs to be played and tested. Yes it's a different systems and way of doing things. Noone will know what does or doesn't work without serious playtesting and that takes time and effort
