Re: stone axe does more damage than militia sword
in fact, nothing makes sense about the damage numbers i'm getting. with 72 str and full peaceful i'm doing 28 with the sword and 33 with the axe. if the wiki is to be believed, the sword's does 28 damge + 1/3 of your strength. so it should be (28 + 72/3) * .80 (-20% dmg from full peaceful) = 41.6. how is damage actually calculated? at what point does the -20% from peaceful come in?

Actually, it doesn't. However, the damage from the Chop attack scales faster with the wielder's strength than does the Sting attack, which is probably the effect you're seeing. But yes, there's a lot about the fighting system that doesn't fully make sense, and we'll try to get around to that sooner or later. :)

In that case, the Wiki is not to be believed. :)sabinati wrote:in fact, nothing makes sense about the damage numbers i'm getting. with 72 str and full peaceful i'm doing 28 with the sword and 33 with the axe. if the wiki is to be believed, the sword's does 28 damge + 1/3 of your strength. so it should be (28 + 72/3) * .80 (-20% dmg from full peaceful) = 41.6. how is damage actually calculated? at what point does the -20% from peaceful come in?
The stone axe does 5 damage, and the militia sword does 10. So your axe attacks do ((72 / 2) + 5) * 0.8 and your sword attacks do ((72 / 3) + 10) * 0.8, which seems closer to the results your actually seeing.

Re: stone axe does more damage than militia sword
what kind of damage does the soldier's sword do? the wiki is probably wrong on that as well.
edit: so at >30 str the axe outpaces the militia sword. doesn't really make sense considering the respective resource requirements.

It does 20 damage.
It should be mentioned that, with the quality system, those will be variable, though, hopefully properly allowing you to level up your equipment along with your character.

Re: stone axe does more damage than militia sword
Suggestion: Make sword deal BASE + 1/3 STR + 1/3 AGI. This makes swords better, and swords *should* be better than stone axes. Except if you are a lumbering pile of muscle, in which case an axe should be better than a sword, which you wouldn't be able to use quickly enough.
Will quality affect base damage or the stat bonus as well?

Hi Loftar can you please tell me the base damage of
Battleaxe of the Twelfth Bay
The regular Bow
The Ranger's Bow
so i can fix Wiki?
It would be also interesting to know how often you actually block with shield ( I only found this: When using a shield you can activate Shield Maneuver which blocks 150% as good as an ordinary maneuver. ) and whether all weapons have the same accuracy

The regular and ranger's bow should be right (on the Wiki), given that their damage doesn't scale at all. I believe it's 18 and 23 respectively. Of course loftar is more reliable on these things, but I'm fairly sure I'm right.
