Stilts let you run faster in swamps. Slow movement swamps are so annoying. Maybe make them take up both hand and the feet slots.
As materials i would suggest 2 blocks 4 branches and 2 bone glue.

You make bigger strides;)
It doesnt have to be stilts, could be a snowshoelike-thing too. Maybe some branches and strings. Would be kinda cheap though.

Why are you spending enough time in swamps for it to be annoying? Every terrain has its advantages and disadvantages. Swamps are supposed to be slow.

Swamp boating, yes.
Stilts make little-to-no sense for the traverse of swamps. Even if you could manage to walk in a way that doesn't make the sludgy water "snag" (try moving an object through water; not nearly as easy as moving it through air, especially if the object is wide) your stilt, you'd still be going ultra-slow just to make sure you don't lose your balance, fall down and kill yourself.
