People should be fixing the item pages instead of just the Curio page. Guess it's better to leave the Curio version until the Table version is fixed, though.
Edit: I have successfully screwed with all the curiosity pages just to make the tables include the right items. Can't think of a way to make the "requires" section any smaller, though, so it's still a bit harder to read. G'night, someone please fix anything I ruined in my category spree.

Re: Curios on the haven wiki --- they are messed up
I haven't messed or tested this. But can someone confirm and clarify at the same time:Phaen wrote:I'll be updating the individual item pages after each curio I've confirmed myself. I don't give a crap about the table on http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Curiosity. I like the other one because it's always in sync with the other pages. Why do we need so many tables?
Don't forget to factor in the Quality Modifier and the Learning Ability, guys, people keep forgetting that![]()
(LP Earned) / (Quality Modifier) / (Learning Ability as a decimal) = (Base LP)
Formula for base LP = { [(LP Earned)/(Quality Modifier)]/(Learning Ability as a decimal) } = (Base LP)
Where (Quality Modifier) = sqrt(q/10)
Example: Log in to 10,000LP with a q10 item: Base LP = (10000/1)/3.6 = 2777
Edit: Fix'd

You wrongly understand quality modifier. Quality Modifier = sqrt(Q/10), so for q10 item it equals 1.Phades wrote: I haven't messed or tested this. But can someone confirm and clarify at the same time:

Oops. Yes, my mistake.
So, according to Phaen's formula, base LP on q10 item that rewards 10,000 LP would be 2,777.
I want to make this clear so that everyone participating is on the same page.

Note: All LP bases tend to be round numbers. If you get 2777 as a base LP number for something, it's likely you're missing something.
I realize it's just an example, but I wanted to point that out.
I'm the person who started the curiosity tables on the wiki and I've been pecking away at cleaning it up since then. There are people working at it, I'm pretty sure I've seen at least 2-3 different writing styles being used in the edits. But it's good we're getting organized and planning this out a little more.
To whoever moved created the "curiosity table" page: Although neater in theory, I don't see the benefit of it. It was much more accessible on the curiosity page itself. Personal thought is that perhaps curiosity table should be just the grand list, leaving the subdivided categories for the curiosity page. Currently we have the subdivided categories on both pages, and the grand list solely on the curiosity table page.

Aye, it is just an example to make sure everyone is calculating it the same and correctly. This is required because we can see differences in both tables. So, either someone is mis-calculating the data, using a bad method for recording the data or has a broken calculator.
There is no need for 2 tables/charts. The curiosity page should explain what curiosities are for the new system and how they are used. It should link to the curiosity table. The table should be formatted to sort curiosities by type (crafting/forageable/activity), base LP, LP per hour, etc. The information on the table should be pulled directly from each curio's item page. Again, no reason whatsoever to have 2 pages with the same information.

I created it because there was no such thing at the time. It is hard to understand what you are saying, but it seems that you are saying that you created the table that is on the same page as the curiosity page. I am assuming this is what you meant when you wrote this:Sevenless wrote:To whoever moved created the "curiosity table" page: Although neater in theory, I don't see the benefit of it.
If you look at the history, you will see that the "Curiosity table" existed before the curiosities on the main curiosity page were in table form. Anyway, besides being the original table, the advantage of the "Curiosity table" is that it doesn't have to be updated separately from the individual items listed in it. If you seek further subdivision, I would suggest adding more item types that can be used to separate the different curios, for instance: crafted and foraged curios.Sevenless wrote:I'm the person who started the curiosity tables on the wiki . . .

Re: Curios on the haven wiki --- they are messed up
I split curiosities into either "crafted" (already existed), "foraged", or "miscellaneous" the other day, so the "Curiosity Table" has those now. Might help to add "mined", "hunted", etc, but it seems fine so far.Onionfighter wrote:If you seek further subdivision, I would suggest adding more item types that can be used to separate the different curios, for instance: crafted and foraged curios.
So...the only complaints I see at this point are about the "requirements" column. It mixes skills and objects together, puts every one on a new line (makes the rows too tall), and doesn't show how many of each item are required. Still hoping someone can figure out a fix for that (i.e. pulling the objectsreq and skillreq fields from curio pages somehow).
