That's why my little camp has a cheapo fence built along the rivers edge, just in case of an accident.

I would think with the amount of complaining something would be done about it. Of course the norm for game devs is to fix this sort of thing with ear plugs. They probably already have.

Of course this is apparently a glitch, but like I said. Game devs. They probably don't care about you.

Shameless copy/paste from announcements.
I was perfectly aware of the risks and my pg was perfectly fit to cross most rivers, but:

What about death by lag?
That's what happened to me yesterday. My character was perfectly able to cross most rivers (48 con). I did already cross a lot of them looking for the damn rustroot. But at some point, sudden LAG SPIKE FROM HELL, right in the middle of a river, wich wasn't any wider than the previous 12 rivers I had already crossed.
I KNOW I was able to cross it, because I already did, but my pg is still dead.

All skills, except the black ones and lawspeaking.
70 melee.
30 exploration (dumped all my spare LP there in the hope to find that blasted root).
Some 55 str.
48 con.

I don't know if they have some kind of log to see what happens on the server and I'm honestly not gonna bother them to get my pg back.
Still, it was instant rage-quit. And I seriously doubt I'll have the patience to grind back all my shit.

STOP Whining!

1. Its an alpha
2. There were PLENTY of warnings. In the forum, ingame (3 times!!!), at the skill description and so on.
3. If you know, that it lags, dont get near rivers! If you dont see the minimap, dont click too far away!
4. No Compensation! Defs have to work on fixing bugs and getting new things like boats ready and not restoring charakters.

When ever someone posts something about wanting their character revived or compensation from drowning all I see is "I died because I am a retard, reward me for this!"

I'd just like to warn people about digging for clay in shallow water if they have swimming. (Especially with the condition of the servers ringht now and the horrible lag)

I died attempting to get some clay, a lagspike happened and I found myself in the middle of the river and died.

I may be wrong, but I think claypits are gone. I haven't seen any in the mudflats, so it seems like digging for clay in shallow waters is the only way to do get clay now.
So, be careful.

The only good reason I see for someone wanting compensation for a water death would be a lag spike. Or a Crash which then logged them into a spot they were in, which might just be a river.

I'd be a little pissed if that happened to me, for example just before this crash I finished crossing a river, but I have 104 Con so I don't exactly drown so easy, however if any of the above happened, yeah..

I'm pretty sure that only applies when you're not full change.

Seriously people, don't buy swimming. I didn't, and I'm doing great.
