If any of these normal actions dropped decent curi's on a regular basis, without having to go farm other mats, I wouldn't mind this system.

I agree with this to an extent. Some curiosities are so rare or so bad that they can't be relied upon for steady LP gains. Foraging and farming have good synergy and seem to provide the best, most reliable curiosities - not to mention good fep from baked goods and useful boosts from booze and tea.

When I focused on hunting, however, I only ever found one lucky rabbit's foot and never a dark heart. Sausages weren't that good of fep and the possible curiosities also weren't that good. Even getting up to q100 deer antlers, it doesn't seem like a great curiosity despite the high skill investment.

Sure, the more people that enjoy the game, the better, but you can't expect a single game to appeal to everyone. Most people don't hate the new system, or they even like it. Regardless, the developers obviously put a lot of thought into this since they went through the effort of making sprites for all these new items and programming this new system into the game. I've been hearing about some mysterious "new LP system" for quite some time whenever the previous one would be knocked for its grindy feel. This is something they've decided to try and it's something lots of people are enjoying; the loss of one or two or even a few hundred players wouldn't really make a difference. Just take TeckXKnight's advice if you don't want to "struggle" through this early stage of the game if you insist on staying here.

Back when this topic was made alot of people were rage quitting because of the curiosity/discovery system. Danno here is being sarcastic saying that everyone is leaving and the game will be empty. Somewhere in this topic Danno also stated how the then current player count was higher than the player count at the end of the other world. And so, the loss of a few hundred people that dislike the new system doesn't matter much. I don't really think he was telling people to quit if they don't like it, but that if they do quit it won't really matter.

The interesting thing about this new system..... W4 had just over 1 mil LP at the end.
current W5 LP 2.1 mil....... I hated grinding LP, grind hunting curios is more fun.

why would everyone want to leave now... personally i think this system is better than the traditional one... instead of deforesting an entire supergrid to make buckets and cheese trays, you just hunt your curios and while waiting for them to finish, you can casually search for the next batch, making a hoard of cone cows, and just enjoy the scenery, the new system makes the world more interactive, if you are bored... go out and explore, meet new people or make new friends, surely this is more interesting than just making bucket after bucket
