So I attempted to pass along the neighborly good will, but I was less than successful. I was talking to a couple Ukrainian players who weren't able to make a palisade. I gave them some info and basic supplies to get started. Then I logged out. When I logged back in, I found out that they had decided not to make a palisade. Instead, they were building a battering ram to attack a nearby Russian village. I tried to explain how attacking people much stronger than you was a Very Bad Idea, but they didn't understand. I don't know if this is because of the language barrier or the stupidity barrier.

This made me laugh. I imagined a man going into the amazon and finding a primitive tribe struggling to clear cut the forest with their primitive stone tools. So he gives them machetes out of kindness to help them dramatically. He comes back to find them getting ready to slaughter the neighbors with their new found superior technology.

Less of a friendly neighbor story and more of a sad thing I saw while roaming throughout World Four.

Image

It was a simple grave in the middle of the woods. The fact that the buckets were still there meant that someone had been there recently. Unfortunately, I never found who had lost his friend, much less the boar that killed him.

I visited that place fairly often. The buckets weren't always there, but they were replaced fairly often, perhaps in the hopes that his friend's descendant would find it and return to him.

Today while punching a deer, that's right, I punch deer, big whoop, wanna fight about it? Anyways, while punching this deer some guy boats along and I instantly remembered that my boat had a LC filled with the other two deer I just punched to death. Scared that he might take it, I wanted to go grab it, but I didn't want the deer to hit me while I was moving ans fuck up my advantage. Luckily he kept going. After the last deer was dead I wen down the river and saw him fishing, and gave him 9 deer meat because he didn't steal my boat.

Happened 2 weeks ago.

I decided to leave my temporary hermit camp and join small village. Planned to leave next day.

So I left my neighbour a gift for goodbye. A bear cape, set of leather armor, and some carrots he asked me of. He was logged off, so I put crate on his claim. Then after minor cpu spike, instead of moving window, i accidentally picked up one of seeds from crate. I dont even have idea when did I turn on criminal acts, but I didn't realise that back then. Anyway, scent was left.

Another neighbour force summoned me on evening the same day. To be more precise, he did it within 5 minut timespan, when my router crashed.

I belive my litle ex-neighbour wearing his new comfortable cape must feel really safe now, after criminal scum was wiped from his area.

Moral of story. Don't help unless they beg you for it, otherwise your help may be counter-productive (pretty much like in battering ram story). And definitely check if you have criminal acts on :D

you should have left a crate filled with whatever on his plot, that way you don't leave trespassing from looking in a container, and risk leaving that theft scent.

Update to the Ukranian story:
So I last heard from them on Easter. Apparently, the male Ukrainian and his silent girlfriend...let's call 'em Bonnieovich and Clydesky...Anyway they were both in a boat when Clydesky's computer crashed. So Bonnieovich was stuck in the passenger seat in the middle of a river.

They contacted me with a kin message and explained their situation. I suggested that Bonnieovich teleport to her HF and that they just abandon the boat. "No," said Clydesky, "we have valuable things in the boat." Okay. Well what if they ride a second boat to the spot, and then lift the stranded boat to safety? There was a pause. And then Clyde told me that the boat was in claimed water and they didn't have the trespassing skill. Now I was suspicious. What valuables were in the boat? Another long pause. "Battering ram materials," he told me.

I shoulda figured. I let them know that I was too far away to help and wished them luck. That's the last I heard from them directly. I assume that they abandoned the ram materials. I do know that they found trouble anyway. More on that when I have all the facts.

I like you, deer puncher. Never change.

There's no time to wait around! We have to be proactive! A man is missing, dammit! Records show that he was last seen on March 14, 2011. Think people! Think! Where could he be?

How high does your UA need to be to properly punch deer? Any particular tactic that works well?

I've only just progressed to proper fox punching, see, but I do desire to punch deer as the masters do.

at approx 110 I was able to punch a deer reasonably well. It didn't have a herd with it, however I don't think taking longer would have caused any issues

The herd isn't a problem if you have a sword, you just have to remove his defense bar then val-strike it.
