if your HF gets destroyed while you are offline: you can spawn at the place where you logged off or your village and simply build a new one
if your HF gets destroyed while you are online: you simply build a new one

What, then, happens if someone logs off and has someone else destroy his hearthfire for him? Then he would be unsummonable. The intent was that this mechanic would replace such things as being able to summon hearthless characters anywhere.

i kind of like that though. Sneaking into a base,
breaking one hearthfire and leaving without a
sound, kill him in your own home and strip him
bare.
Though i can see that being disliked a little...

Re: Anti Alt Vault
It's overpowered, you can murder while only using vandal. We did it so often in Sodom it wasn't funny.
I should probably also add that if this doesn't happen, if possible leaving a murder scent on an HFless character should leave a duplicate scent where his HF previously was, if it was broken before he last logged out (which would probably be the case anyway).

When a logged off characters hearth is destroyed, they get logged on where they logged out.
If that is not possible, log them on at their village idol.
If that is not possible log them on where their hearth was.
It means hearth fires are important and need to be protected.
It means it's possible to force summon someone without a scent.
If the hearth fire is indoors then there's no risk of them being murdered without leaving a murder scent until manhandling hearthlings is implemented.
On the whole I think it's something that would hurt noobs quite a lot right away, but eventually the but hurt would even out at the level of swimming deaths before all the warnings and safeties were implemented.

This is seriously the worst idea ever. Cool way to rule the world (next world) is to just pump 25 STR and get vandalism, then just boat around for hours killing every single person who has yet to get a palisade up. Rule the world because no one will ever be able to catch up to you.theTrav wrote:When a logged off characters hearth is destroyed, they get logged on where they logged out.

The power you're bringing to HVs is too high.theTrav wrote:When a logged off characters hearth is destroyed, they get logged on where they logged out.

Although I guess I could agree that villages need to be as strong as HVs and peopleare getting away with too little.
When HF is destroyed nothing should happen, they shouldn't be logged on automatically, that'd be pretty balls to the walls insane.

Sounds pretty boring to me, also sounds like it's not something any single faction could do across the entire HnH world, the faction that doesn't do it is going to be ahead a lot of productivity time.cobaltjones wrote:Just boat around for hours killing every single person who has yet to get a palisade up.
what about spawning their equipment then? Back to the napsack idea? you can take all their stuff, but you can't kill the hearthling.
Next time they log on, they have all the previous spawn options, if none of them are viable options they get a random wilderness spawn?

Here's an idea: if your hf is destroyed you spawn where you logged off, sleeping. Sleeping hearthlings can't be interacted with, but can be woken up with summonable scents.
Once a man has changed the relationship between himself and his environment, he cannot return to the blissful ignorance he left. Motion, of necessity, involves a change in perspective.

Alternative suggestion:
Character stays persistent in world if client simply closed.
Character not persistent in world if:
HF is set or
Slept in bed
If you sleep in a bed, doesn't matter where your HF is, they need to interact with the `bed` to summon you.
If you just log out, they can just go to your HF.
`Where you are` should point to the bed while offline (still display message).
\o\ Bed support Committee!! Go!
