Killing people was fun and worth it, now it's a chore.
I completely agree, I loved the old system, it drew me to this game. Murdering should profit you, what im guessing though is jorb and loftar as casuals were murdered one too many times so they changed the system for their benifit, I guess its their game anyways so they can change important game mechanics into world of warcraft pussy mechanics on a whim anyhow.

childish jackard, are you going to nail me for everything ive ever said. You act like a women who holds onto something and uses it against you later on.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

To be fair you did make an extremely stupid comment.

The benefit of killing people is killing people, much like the benefit of making a straw hat is having a straw hat. The new LP system completely overhauled LP gain mechanics, including from murder. It's in line with everything else in the game now. To insinuate that jorb or loftar changed the rewards for murder because of their own experiences in the game is just retarded.

Well actually the benefit of having a straw hat is the farming boost so that example is kind of a bad one.

I'm not sure if having bots online digging constitutes as having a more active world?

That's exactly what I meant bozo. The benefit of the item or task is the item or task, not the complimentary LP gained from it.

In previous worlds people would mass produce items because of the LP they gained. Straw hats, wheat dough. Dropped by the thousands across the ground, discarded.

The new LP system got rid of LP gained from actions. Why should murder be any different?

Just thought I'd say, I'm well aware of that, obviously murder LP would break this new system.

I will however say that when I got LP for killing people I was happy once done with the whole thing, now I'm just bored and don't feel like doing it again, unless I'm actually raiding the place and taking every damn cupboard and item they have.

That point would be 99.99% hard to come up with a good logical rebuttle, i wasnt around for the learning points gained from repeating something, but if i was i would be like, 'can we murder him twice?', "no no, i'm afraid when you murdered him once he died"

i was talking about the comment 2 spots up from this one

The same was said of all actions when the new LP system was introduced.

"Why would I build a road or a timber house if I don't get ANY LP for doing it?!?!"

The answer is simply that you build roads and houses because you need roads and houses. Sure, with the old system it was at least somewhat relieving to get a noticeable sum of LP from paving an area all day or replanting an entire field, but that's just not the way it works anymore. And with the current curiosity system most people don't even notice it anyway.

The benefit of killing someone is that that person is now dead. If that's not enough to make you feel rewarded after killing them then perhaps you shouldn't be killing them in the first place. The whole point of the W5 update was to differentiate between tasks/actions and LP gain. For better or worse.
