I know this has been discussed already, though I'm not sure anyone has made a dedicated thread for it. I'm definitely for multilayer villages extending both up and down over as many layers as the players would want.

Should be a mini idol you can place in the mine, so long as its under your original idols claims, and from the influence you gain from the mini idol you can place more banner's etc for your village.

Problem with ^ that is that you completley destroy underground warefare really. Mini idols they have to at least make an effort at protection.

I think this has been the best idea I've seen to this point and then you could actually expand the village up or down.

Yeah hasn't the subject of colonies been discussed a bunch before? I think it's generally a good idea. Being able to build an authority object outside of the village would cut down on the amount of alt villages; but it would have to be balanced in the investment required to how easy it would be to spread.

Another option would be some sort of village alliance system, something the village system needs anyway. If you can set alliances with other villages it wouldn't matter so much as alt villages would just be incorporated into that alliance anyway.

You no longer need alt villages. Vclaims can be exrtended outside the village, just not vertically by any means. I think extending a claim via a minehole is probably the simplest way to allow this rather than a new idol and a new check. There's nothing about a new idol that will inherently allow this function or deny it. in fact what makes it necessary as a new object beyond conceptual aesthetics?
