And here it is, the reason we'll get per/q back in the game.
Well what is this that I can't see
With ice cold hands takin' hold of me
Well I am death, none can excel
-Ralph Stanley, O Death!

It's fucking funny how we get back to the old ideas.
"Since all men count themselves righteous, and since
no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."
no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."

How odd. We were just discussing that. :)Chakravanti wrote:And here it is, the reason we'll get per/q back in the game.
We also considered the alternative of simply having a special skill that must be acquired before being able to see item qualities at all, making it boolean instead.

i think perception would be better. might be some different ways to go about it though. maybe based on sqrt(per*int).

Then you wont really know max q, for some things, until after a while.. better it be a skill.sabinati wrote:i think perception would be better. might be some different ways to go about it though. maybe based on sqrt(per*int).

IMO it should be like foraging, you buy the skill then have to increase stats to get better at it.

Some people wont know if they are cheated or not in trade and the q system would just be plain off.sabinati wrote:that's the pointrozn wrote:Then you wont really know max q, for some things, until after a while.. better it be a skill.sabinati wrote:i think perception would be better. might be some different ways to go about it though. maybe based on sqrt(per*int).
You would need 100 perc and intell just to see something at q100.
