Game being unresponsive and people looping
Okay, so game looks great, character creation, yeah fine, but once I'm in game things go wrong. There are 2 main problems I have: the game doing nothing when I click on something and the images looping over and over again. Also is there anyway to find a delete the files that run the game, I've deleted the Autohaven stuff but since nothing has been redownloaded I think there's something I'm missing.

Sounds like your internet connection sucks. Mine too. That's just the low bandwidth blues.
I don't think I know what you mean with your second problem, though. I'm not sure about the structure here, but there should just be the java console in your temp folder. I this may be cached as well, but if you delete that and clear the cache, there should be no traces of the game on your machine. Other than the http side of things, like history and saved passwords in your browser.
That is, unless they've decided to mess with the registry, but I doubt that seeing as this is so multiplatform.

Internet connection speed is 54mbps, which doesn't sound too bad to me, but I'm not exactly super computer literate.
But I can click buttons and stuff but nothing happens, so I'm just confused

It took 30 minutes of leaving the game running before it updated then it took 5 minutes for it to update what was happeneing on the screen after that.

Might be a firewall, but that would be odd... I definitely seems like you barely have any connection at all. Can you try playing it somewhere else? Perhaps from a netcafe?
I'm really suspicious that your internet connection might be the problem here, despite the reported speed.

I couldn't find what file to unblock under Windows Firewall, what would it be listed as?
And zero net cafes around here. I could take my imaginary laptop to the nearest McDonalds of course
Also, has no problems fetching character data, which I think is through the website so whatever it is is to do with my computer connecting with the server. But I have no idea what it is

I have no idea what files and firewalls would have in common, but that may be some weird Windows issue, I guess -- maybe someone actually using Windows would have an idea? Anyone?Gwydion wrote:I couldn't find what file to unblock under Windows Firewall, what would it be listed as?
As for ports, on the other hand, Haven uses UDP port 1870 and TCP port 1871.

Can you add port 1900 for UDP? Or is this not possible?loftar wrote:I have no idea what files and firewalls would have in common, but that may be some weird Windows issue, I guess -- maybe someone actually using Windows would have an idea? I think you're misunderstanding your wireless router LAN connection with your real connection here.Gwydion wrote:Internet connection speed is 54mbps, which doesn't sound too bad to me, but I'm not exactly super computer literate.

54 mbps is pretty darned extreme, and that's a default bandwith rate for wireless routers.
