Re: A casual players reflections
I don't think it's taken far enough. The game shouldn't be about endlessly grinding a character and then not using it because it's too precious to lose and you'll never again be in the same league as those who started same time as you but didn't die. People should go out and fight and die, it's much more fun that pushing numbers. Of course, for this to happen there has to be some point beyond which it is practically pointless to grind. IMO the only purpose of having skill levels at all is to set a minimum LP bar so griefers can't use fresh alts to do their dirty work.

Even with around 300-400 UA most people were still to afraid to lose their char to fight in world 5 =|

Re: A casual players reflections
There is another set of problems in which how ridiculously easy it is to set up an alt factory and how easy it is to manufactor characters which is perhaps the actual problem rather than the scaling of combat potential. It ends up becoming not how good the character is but how they set up their factory and how well they bot (and there is a fighting script out there). So if that problem is solved, zerg rushes may be less potent and things may (hopefully) balance out a bit.Potjeh wrote:IMO the only purpose of having skill levels at all is to set a minimum LP bar so griefers can't use fresh alts to do their dirty work.

I'd love to see a half-competent combat bot.
As for investment, I think that between LP and stat requirements it'd be high enough if one could track down and destroy the production centres.

The main problem I see with this is if the production center is built like a vault.Potjeh wrote:I'd love to see a half-competent combat bot.

The bot is capable of using maneuvers and moves up to 6 IP where it will use the standard punch/flex and will switch to bloodlust with enemy's attack bar low enough. It also will attack you if its attack is higher favorable against your defense and will sting if you have virtually no defense.

Hence the latter part of find and destroy.
And that's a piss poor bot you got there, it'd only fuel the enemy's manoeuvres. Better to use NPNG. But the main problem with these bots is the movement part, you don't want them getting in your way but they have to be proactive enough to actually block the enemy.

I still don't get it, why having better char should give you almost 100% chance to win even against zerg rush. Fighting against more than one enemy is easy only in TV where bad characters attack one by one
.
Massive ua/melee chars are for me like guys on gym making their muscles bigger and bigger. They can smash your face if they hit you, but they aren't fighters. Trained warrior is someone who knows about strategy, following orders, knowing moves and dirty tricks. So if the warrior is outnumbered, he runs or tries to find a place, where enemy can't surround him. Even 2 gym guys can kick warrior's ass, but it doesn't make them good at fighting.
Same is in hnh. You don't wanna fight against more than one opponent, no matter of your stats and skill is. Better to avoid it and fight only if you have no other choice. If you fight one on one your stats can help, but without knowing combat probably you will loose.

It is someone else's bot as we did not use combots world 5 as they are unreliable at best and are prone to artificial stupidity in many situation (as many can vouch that I exploit this...a alot).
Also please do not mistake that I am wishing that character stat should matter a lot but I do not wish it to be deconstructed to the point that all combat oriented stat become one point wonder. One can argue that it is a good thing that it should be eliminated altogether and I respect their view though. It is simply my personal intake, as (the example may not be an accurate view of the actual people mention) Potjeh and Jackard wants a lot more emphasis on player skills, perhaps entirely while Avu and Klaue wants a bit more emphasis on stronger characters than they are currently. To be honest, it is hard to set an ideal standard as ours are so different from each other. Fortunate most of us can agree on a few things that does need work.

We had a similar bot and while it isn't very creative it is more precise than Nao could ever be. It had a pretty good rate at defeating not overly experienced combattants.Potjeh wrote:Hence the latter part of find and destroy.

@Kpru. Titans seemed like a bad concept until alt armies came along. You'd have to change the entire system to justify alts being so strong.
