Idea: Lawn mower

I know most will think of fuel powered lawn mowers we see often, but i've seen many examples when people were building lawn mowers without need for electricity or gas. Wheel movements were converted into rotary movement of cuttign blades just with simple gears, i think crafting of such device could be possible using plain metals and wood.
Purpose: mow grass and gain straw, sometimes maybe a random seed or two. Maybe a new curiosity to be found while doing it?
Mowing your lawn would of course require grass to coem in at least 2 states: fully grown and freshly mowed. Maybe after the grass is cut it could transform grassland into the yellow (forgot its name) kind of ground.

there are some serious issues with this community, honestly. i've been here and there over few years, but it kinda "stinks" here with hostility wherever you look.

you want straw grow wheat, you want seeds go foraging www, you want curios go forage/craft them...don't suggest something to make things look bad(overgrown/unmowed lawn) for everyone else just because you're lazy.

Just one question: what's a lawn? Everyone who's anyone PAVES their entire village (except where trees/crops are grown).

I don't, If the enemy is in your town and chasing you pavement everywhere would mean constantly sprinting, meaning more water consumption, meaning more of a chance of making a mistake in running while fiddling around with water.
I find it *safer* if you have other terrain types and use your knowledge of where everything is placed to try and get them stuck on something...though of course you could just keep them outside the walls...

also planted grass can look cool when done right, you can also make your char look like an old man, and sit on a chair yelling at people who walk by to "get off your lawn"

At least this idea hasn't been there before and is kinda funny. Not that it will ever make it into the game, but no need to hate it so much.

I could see myself mowing my lawn, greeeting Ainran as they are passing by on their latest killing spree. After my work is done I will sit in my chair on the frontporch then and read the newspaper. What a peaceful image of the hearthlands a lawn mower can create.
