Good riddance to bad rubbish. I guess with Vaclav Havel recent dead, someone really evil had to go as well to balance the world's karma level.
I don't expect any improvement from the new guy, but seeing how things can't get much worse in NK, any change at all will likely be for the better.

Once a man has changed the relationship between himself and his environment, he cannot return to the blissful ignorance he left. Motion, of necessity, involves a change in perspective.

It's not conditions in N. Korea that are the concern. It's what this guy could do to what little stability is left between the two countries. The last thing this world needs is a war where one side is crazy enough to start throwing nuclear weapons.spectacle wrote:I don't expect any improvement from the new guy, but seeing how things can't get much worse in NK, any change at all will likely be for the better.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Re: Kim Jong-il died
one thing we should keep in mind is that the current NK military wouldnt accept Jong-un as a "righteous" successor if he wasnt evil enough to try to continue what Jong-il had done, and to carry out Songun, aka, the "military-first" policy.
Jong-un is young and hasnt shown anything convincing to have enough power to control the government himself for any drastic changes. some say that those horrible attacks to south korea last year was one of the events they had to go through to convince the military and the whole nation to admit the third son's ability and leadership for succeeding.
as i type this, i am hearing another news that north korea has launched one experimental missile from their eastern coast towards Japan Sea. media says some south korean government source confirmed its launch, but denied any relations to the "great" leader's death.

On the other side, Pol Pot was quite westernized man, who lived and studied in France. That did not stopped him from killing about a quarter of country population, setting a record, i think.Tonkyhonk wrote:funny thing about DNA, however pretty girls those leaders can pick from the crowd, their children hardly fail to succeed their distinctive looks.
By the way, about your predictions. I was quite interested in n. corea some time ago. There is the guy in russia (actually he lives is Seoul now), orientalist, north korea expert, i liked his blog on that topic. Among the other facts, he loved to state, that no one knows anything about north korea inner party politics, except, perhaps, few not very important little things. But since journalists should write anything on the topic, they start to fantasize and reasoning about inner politic, about sucessor, and come to conclusions, which no expert would agree, knowing how insignificant are facts on that topic.
