I wonder, though, was it ever about acting honorable in the first place? It has always been permadeath PVP. There are certain mechanics of the game right now that really are a turn off, and certain aspects of the community which allow it to persist (namely the lawless nature). So in the end, is easy botting really going to hurt things that much?

a lawless world easily abused just shows your character, i made a joke just now about all bets being off, ill secure my people as best i can against bug abuse but i will never exploit anything not intended as part of the game to reach my goal. 1 exception: tanning tub bug, but thats cause even jorbtar said its cool.

if you find yourself having no or little trouble botting or abusing bugs then stay the **** away from me in real life, youd prob run me over with your car to get to your own job 5 mins faster.

it being easy is NOT an excuse, you are just the type of person that would sell your own mother for a few gold bars if it was possible. cant lie to yourself and who cares anyway, do what you want to do and ill do what i want to. but dont give me crap like "everyone does it"

edit: im not talking to you personally, just everyone with the same view that also thinks everyone does it(which isnt even true) makes it right.

70% my ass.

If people like to bot the game to avoid to spend time on "useless actions", they have choosed the wrong game. This game is supposed to be not only a killing spree, but also a "build" game.

So go to build with your hands.

W6 isn't even that bad in terms of exploits (aside from auto-hearth/logout/aggro, but really that's just an automated task ie: bot) when you compare it to W5 (wall jump every day) and then W4 (mass lp botting which led to curios).

I'm sure there were people even back as far as W3 botting farming because it's quite a tedious task and that's really why most people bot certain things.

yes people did it, but did everyone? no. that was the point i was trying to make, dont justify it by saying everyone does it, just accept youre a douchebag that prefers to bot his way to achieve stuff rather then play the game the way it was meant to and have fun doing it.

cause im part of everyone and ******* dont bot. and most people dont, they just dont adverize it since they dont have an conscience trying to justify what they are doing(since they dont need to).

i honestly dont give half a damn how you play (unless it messes with me in which case we fight) but stop trying to make yourself sound like the standard.

Kralmir I understand your integrity and why you value it. However, I think that there need to be mechanics changes to better protect legit players from arbitrary losses. Anything lost can be regained with ample time. Bots just make it easier to come back when you lose a character. Imho mindless timesinks are no fun. i want to get to the endgame and PVP faster.

(as a side note, sniping is one of the primary reasons I'm reevaluating the way I play this game)

I never said everyone botted... All I did was point out that previous worlds were even worse than W6 and the reason why most of the (botters) that do bot is because of tedious tasks. (W3 and W4 were a mix of tedious task botters + lp botters).

Also on another note calling me a douchebag for pointing out why other people bot isn't going to get you anywhere.

There's nothing in that post warranting a ban. It is a simple question.

Whats settled is that only one person came here to complain about bots, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to spend the rest of my time writing bots / tutorials for bots instead of playing the game.

... Botting isn't encouraged but no one gets punished for it. Saying enjoy your ban in a banless community (Excluding Bruthol, Portgas, and myself if the mods think it'd be ironic) is sort of lame. I'm all in favor of farming bots because fuck farming a 50x50 field every day with all the lag. But bots are things that you generally need to seek out, educate yourself, and make techy friends for. If it's in the hands of the general (derpy) public it would get my kill count up a lot faster since everyone would be AFK, but it wouldn't help in the end.
