How can I reduce lag?
When I play the game and I click somewhere to move, it takes about 3-4 seconds before the character reacts and moves. While I can manage this at the moment playing on my own, I fear that this may cause problems when I progress into the game in actions such as conversations or combat.

It's server lag and everyone experiences it. Short of donating an extremely large amount of money so they can upgrade the server, nothing you can do.

but actually i'm not lagging. Don't understimate the heavyness of the client, if it's custom or not. Check if you'r ram is going hard or your cpu or whatever, i'm just able to read the task manager..
Anyway if is a client problem you'll notice it easily, because Everything go slow, the loading of any kind of thing, menues too. If is a lag of the server, you'll have different problems, like a chara that won't move but a client that run perfectly fluid. Items unloaded but all options of the client, fast, and so on.

But yeah, what Flame said. There's a lot you can do to eliminate problems on the client end. Check out ways to optimize your system because the client isn't very optimized.

Another thing to check would be torrents or other networking applications in the background =) but unless you have a decent CPU/RAM you're going to experience some lag unfrotunately, it's a blessing and a curse for all of us out there in the Hearthlands.
I had a retardedly huge signature and have gotten this embarrassing replacement to show for it.

Re: How can I reduce lag?
As far as i know the only lag to reduce on a client is turning off all highlights (especialy claims).
I think it would be weird if all of a sudden hnh stops lagging. You would have to get used to it o.o

Thanks for all the feedback, I guess I'll have to cope with it for now.
