Yeah, for those who apparently never fought anyone in this game, Dalt, Vigilance, I didn't drown after getting stuck in the water, he sat there punching me until I died. I could not use moves back, as you can't que up moves in the water.

It looks like combat was engaged with one of the two once you were already fucked/in the water, and the one that you had 6/7 IP on barely had defense missing. He didn't do anything, I just CTRL + left clicked out of the boat and ended up there.
