Meat's Back On The Menu

Post by btaylor »

When you reach the "end game" you either grind quality or PvP. I've never really had an interest in either of these things, so when Hazzor started recruiting people for a fresh new start I volunteered my services. None of us have really started hunting animals yet since we're all relatively new. Our diets have consisted of bugs and vegetation until tonight. I am proud to be the first one in our group to have successfully hunted and brought down a Boar. *cue USSR anthem music for dramatic effect*

Earlygame is my favorite. Settlement and character progression feels so fast-paced at the beginning.

So I'm wandering around in my boat looking for my next boar when I spot a bear off in the distance. Seeing this as my chance to one-up Hazzor in our little hunting competition, I immediately start raining down rocks on the beast. My meager Marksmanship and Sling quality do little in my favor but I continue my assault in hopes of bringing such a worthy trophy back home.

About 20 minutes into my attack, one of my comrades starts walking out of the forest behind the bear, almost oblivious to the danger he was in. Without hesitation the bear switches targets and wastes no time mauling the poor Hearthling to death.

Seeing my comrade fall in battle only strengthened my resolve and I renewed my attacks with an unnatural zeal. Blow after continuous blow struck the bear and after what felt like an eternity, it finally succumbed to the blunt trauma I inflicted upon it and collapsed with a death sigh. My comrade was already back recovering his gear as we celebrated the somewhat successful hunt and returned back to camp.

I die so often that starting over is a weekly proposition for me. lol Part of the reason i don't quit is the ability to try everything out a bit different.

i have yet more trauma to report for the punchbag that is tonak

no pics, i wasn't there, but north of our settlement a wall harbors some asshat rangers, who shot poor tonak for walking past, they left him alive, but only just... poor guy's gonna look more like a sack of meat than a hearthling pretty soon
