easier swimming
swimming is almost a useless skill because of stamina consumption it should eat alot of stamina but no that much so you can actually use it.

Swimming is fine. Drink water before swimming across. Problem solved.

This. But in more debt.btaylor wrote:Swimming is fine. Drink water before swimming across. Problem solved.
1: Halve your stamina.
2: Click a tile across the river
3: Drink water from flask/waterskin
Don't, under any situations, click another tile while in the river. You'll die depending on your cons/how big the river is.

Re: easier swimming
A) Swimming is hardly useless. You can cross a river on under 20 con if you know what you're doing. Heck, with enough con, you could probably cross a lake. (I'm not going to try to build a character to do this, though. Kinda pointless if you ask me.) You're not meant to be able to swim anywhere in the game. Quit trying to turn this game into some generic crappy MMO.
B) You really don't know what "stamina consumption" is. Do a bit of research on this. I'm actually happy with the current rate of stamina use. It's the lag and server instability that kills the full usefulness of swimming.

Dude, your suggestion is 1 sentence long. Also, no. Swimming isn't useless you just need to know what you're doing.kabal wrote:swimming is almost a useless skill because of stamina consumption it should eat alot of stamina but no that much so you can actually use it.

Re: easier swimming
I'd like to add in here that I have swam 6 rivers with 10 con (14-4) and Q10 water.
Therefore in my opinion I do not believe swimming should be made even more easier.
OP must not remember W3.

Re: easier swimming
Unless this was posted on an alt account, OP wasn't around for w3 and needing 80 con to swim just one tile.fallout wrote: OP must not remember W3.

Re: easier swimming
What the others said. Don't expect to be able to swim an entire lake with your starting con in a survival game. Work on it. Despite swimming let's you cross rivers now even at con 10. If anything I want it to be harder again.
Those "I died because of swimming" threads were hilarious and I really miss them. We used to have one of those like once a week.
