LUCKILY i have a shitty computer right now and cant play Eve, because i would be nolifing it =]

ill look into Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup right now, although if its p2p i probably wont be able to try it since i just bought membership to arcanist

really? EVE is really very friendly on the computer, i used to play EVE on full, even 16x anisotropic on an imac with a 256mb mobility graphics card, all the space is just a picture arced around into a sphere XD try it, you'd be surprised

When's the last time you've played it? The game has gone through two or three major graphic engine updates in the last 4-5 years. Now you need a processor supporting SSE2 (no AMD chips prior to 64-bit arch) and GPU capable of running VSL 3.0 (any DX10 or newer card should do this) and that was the last time I tried running it over a year ago. Granted, a computer meeting that spec is 4 years old. Some of us are still using 6-8 year old computers because, well, we're broke and has the tech really changed THAT much? (There's a lot of brand new AAA titles I can still run on my upgraded Athon XP w/ AGP graphics and 2GB RAM.)

edit: ok, maybe not all of us are broke, but maybe cheap or just don't see the point in an upgrade yet.

hm, i dunno, maybe about a year ago :/ at least they're not letting it go stale like blizz did with Wow, but considering how much time and money people invest in EVE it's gotta be a kick in the nuts if you suddenly can't play while your major corp's base get's demolished :/

Wish I'd stuck with flash sometimes. With the amount of time I've spent learning how to visualize things in java, and how to program servers I could have 3-4 flash games made by now at least. Still, can't draw worth shit so maybe that's an ok thing.
