I finished a palisade started by someone else (abandoned house with runestone saying they had been killed). I made the gate and the game gave me the key. When I try to use the key (left click on key, right click on gate) the game tells me I do not have the right key for the gate. What am I doing wrong?

You don;t need to click on the gate with the key. Only need it in your inventory. I guess it doesn't work if you're "holding" it.

Thanks for the replies. If I only need to have the key in inventory, how do I go through the gate? Just walk through or do I right click it like going through a house door?

one more question on animal spawn:
how long a bear/deer will respawn?8 hour in real life? i just dont want to patrol the area on and on.
and what is the connection between animal spawn and players presentation ? i find out there must be some connection...

Clay is relatively rare in the grand scheme of things. If you're digging on the shore you'll probably only find clay on about 5% of all available shore tiles. That said, once you do find a node you should be able to dig up quite a bit of clay depending on the quality of the node.

Dig at a spot. If you find one or none, move half to a full minimap away and try again. Eventually you'll get more than one. That means you found a node.

What are the best lures for fishing, ive heard that live bait is the best (leeches and worms) but what are the best reusable lures?
Are all reusable lures crap ? or are there some that are pretty good?

I dont see any big diverence in it, worms and leaches are my best.

See the fishing charts as what lures catch what fish and at what time of the month to catch certain fish.
