Re: Putting a Foot Down
The thing I'm most intrigued about is the mention of 'leantos for lumber' in the OP. Because, what?
- if you cut a tree down, the resulting logs will not decay
- if you chop a log or treestump into blocks and don't need them immediately, the best way to store them is in a palisade cornerpost sign, or a wooden plough sign if you can't build palisades yet
Other points:
- the guy in a bear cape is probably not one of these homeless squatter people (Occupy the Hearthlands?)
- there is only one 'b' in 'hobo'
- the largest quantity of trolling in this thread appears to come from Zaerfen, and that was clearly intended as a joke rather than actual trolling
- if you want to post a screenshot, you're probably safe so long as you don't include the minimap.

Even then, the odds of someone finding you on the big map is so slim off a single minimap is extremely small.min_the_fair wrote: - if you want to post a screenshot, you're probably safe so long as you don't include the minimap.
To OP: it's entirely possible that this guy has all the combat and black skills and has a large number of UA. some of our most famous killers walk around looking like a noob most of the time to sucker opposing raiders into attacking. Thus, no, a fence probably won't stop him, but it's a measure of protection that might cut it out. If you're A) have your things on a claim, and B) have a fence surrounding your things on said claim, it increases the number of "black" skills needed to rob you. It also makes the guy decide if he wants to leave scents around that he can be summoned with, namely Theft and Vandalism. If his HF is in the open, then it would be very easy to bring retribution for the crimes.
FYI, nice read. It's good to see creative posts in HDI.
To all you other guys: if someone's trolling, just report the damn post. Quit replying. Let the mods deal with it. Sheesh.

Which was my original intent more or less but supposedly asking the guy to post screenies is "trolling".
