Looks like someone needs a lesson on animals.

You go to the aurochs or bear herd and tame them into klaues. Then you take your herd of klaues into the woods and learn them a lesson.

I've got a herd of these boys myself.

thinking that way, could you, in theory, lure the bear to an unsuspecting noob and essentially have a pet bear, ready to scentlessly kill anyone you wish?

Yup. before getting rage and murder beginning of this world I used pet boards and bears to kill 10ish hearthlings.
