Murder!

My character Ranfar Sabat was murdered just south of the town of Swampcrazed by the player called Bitch. I kid you not, that is their name. I spoke with the attacker in the safety of town and they said their motive was "boredom" and they were "quitting anyways."

All my hard work I spent on my character has been to waste because of this jerk. Where is the justice?? Now I have to relearn every single skill I had on him just so I can get back to my farming and everything else.

sorry to hear your first experiences have been somewhat tarnished...

Open your character screen, go to the third tab (personal belief). The bottom slider is tradition vs change. It lets you go between losing 25% or 75% of your LP when you die. Unfortuantely change also makes it quicker to move sliders and you automatically go towards change when you move other sliders. Change also gives you SPASTIC amounts of LP to the degree that it's not really worth considering trad until you've played for several months and even then only maybe...

Mostly you just have to avoid dying. Don't buy swimming and try to spend your time chilling with a high level player

If it's any consolation, I confronted Bitch about attacking another player. She said she was quitting, and committed suicide by swimming.

Yes. I just met the other person she attacked, Kair. They also told me that she killed herself via swimming, and Kair also gave me a backpack and a new flask (which Bitch stole from my corpse.) Glad we are rid of that menace and Swampcrazed and try and go back to being peaceful.

Don't feel bad. It happened. I am actually back with a new character and trying to get things back to normal with my farmhouse so you will see me there under my new character Theodoric the Wise.

Actually, your LP won't all have been wasted. If you were new, you probably were midway between tradition and change, in which case there should have been a grave stone in the character creation room - claim the previous character as an ancestor, and get part of his LP and stats back.

I didn't see any gravestone. I remember watching my character fall dead to the ground, but Bitch was still able to attack me. A finishing blow? Either way my character is gone now and I have a new one.
