We've been playing this game a little over a year now, and you guys are all awesome. Thanks for showing us a good time thus far. This is ValerieHallaway's 20th birthday cake, made by me today at work. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Inventory box since my frosting was being obnoxious, filled with q20 pearls. It's a chocolate cake, filled with whipped cream and strawberry, and then frosted with buttercream btw.

OP is a German descended American, but close I guess. Visigoth/Hessian blood and all. However, you are very correct on the heritige of the confection, it's a French tradition that spread to America, and is quite popular over here.

hmm, not sure why i thought french, but yeah i knew it was some kinda gateux thing going on in there

It's Gateaux, but for me it's more a tradition from East of France and Germany
