Re: world map?
It generally updates as often as people upload their map info unless Algeralith has the map stitcher thingy not running? I'm not sure he even bothers with it anymore as there are at least 3 artifacting problems in my SG alone.

Re: world map?
They are busy programming a game they are getting paid for..."Salem", and even then, it wasn't their idea to have a world map, that is completely done by a player, they have nothing to do with it.

No, not always. There's still bugs in it and the maps get stuck in the wrong place, so algeralith takes the processing down for weeks at a time. It gets turned back on for a few days, check for bugs, etc., and then turned back off.painhertz wrote:It generally updates as often as people upload their map info unless Algeralith has the map stitcher thingy not running? OP, if you're really curious about the status of it, you should read through the last month or two posts in that thread.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Re: world map?
They made a cartography system in game if you never tried it do it, but naturally its a lot harder to use than having your client draw the map for you automatically. And people don't want the map to be updated because they don't want to see everyone come at their door, so the fact 99% of the map is present is enough, nobody upload the map once the rivers and land are drawn, well i don't and it seam most do the same.oytuns wrote:why jorb or loftar doesnt want to get involved and help?

Re: world map?
This is odd, though... I have explored a very large area around my home, and still haven't managed to find it on the world 6 map (the one on the wiki). I have looked for some major and unique terrain features (many of them) and nothing... I wanted to have at least an idea of what direction in the world I am at, but oh well...

Re: world map?
the map is FUCKING BIG, I recommend you get on a boat, open the client's minimap, zoom out as much as you can, and explore in the water, lakes are easier to find than "major unique terrain features"graal wrote:This is odd, though... Re: world map?
By major unique terrain features, I mean 2 mountains, a swamp, 2 of the area that is white on the map and I don't know the name, a lake, a heath, besides the river patterns between them... I did a LOT of comparison and didn't identify where I am on the world 6 map in the wiki...kstor1234 wrote:the map is FUCKING BIG, I recommend you get on a boat, open the client's minimap, zoom out as much as you can, and explore in the water, lakes are easier to find than "major unique terrain features"graal wrote:This is odd, though...
