Odd Signpost behaviour

So I cooked up some decent ql bricks, was too lazy to bring them to the correct cornerpost construction sign I had been storing them in and tossed them into a wall ql brick cornerpost sign, knowing they would be on top and easy to remove when I got around to it. Not too long afterwards, I found that the good bricks had somehow gone to the bottom of the pile so to speak, and I had to remove all the rest of the bricks. It's only happened this once that I know of, is this one of those things that just happens every now and again?
